The Tutwiler Hotel only Alabama outlet offering NewspaperDirect

BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Tutwiler Hotel Hampton Inn & Suites recently became the first Alabama hotel to offer NewspaperDirect. Through the service, the hotel can provide a printed copy of more than 540 newspapers from around the globe for a minimal fee.
“Guests have already started using the service, which we added this summer,” said General Manager Rusti Price. “We have printed papers from Germany, Russia and parts of Asia for international guests. They can open their door in the morning and have their hometown paper waiting for them.”
The Tutwiler is also offering the papers to area businesses that follow international news, and Birmingham residents with ties abroad are invited to request copies as well.
NewspaperDirect is only available at 50 hotels in the United States. The Tutwiler joins the likes of the Bellagio Hotel and Resort in Las Vegas, the Regent Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills and the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead in Atlanta.
NewspaperDirect is one of several services added at The Tutwiler since it completed its $9 million renovation in April. Other new amenities include:
• a lending library of the American Film Industry’s Top 100 movies and popular regional books, a large percentage of which are author-signed copies;
• free wireless Internet and wireless network printing;
• free airport transportation, including ability to monitor guest arrival and departure
• Hampton signature Hot Complimentary Breakfast and On the Run Breakfast Bags on weekdays.
“From the time we embarked on this exciting project to revitalize and restore The Tutwiler to its intended grandeur, it was our goal for it to be considered the best in the state and throughout the region,” said Bill Murray, President of Integral Hospitality Solutions which purchased the hotel in March of 2006. “Guests at The Tutwiler can now enjoy a total experience that will rival the stay at top luxury hotels in the nation.”
