Released: 11/27/2006

BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Brewton Inn, a 91-room independent hotel in South Alabama, celebrated its grand opening November 21. Birmingham-based management company Integral Hospitality Solutions will manage the property.
After the Brewton Motor Inn closed in 2005, owners of the Hampton Inn Saraland in north Mobile, Ala., purchased the hotel and launched a full-scale renovation. Rooms were gutted and rebuilt and amenities such as a business center, exercise facilities and 900-square-feet of meeting space were added.
“This is a completely new hotel,” said Rick Engel, Director of Operations for Integral. “No expense was spared in making this hotel one that the City of Brewton can be proud of, and we are opening the doors just in time for family guests coming in for the holiday season.”
Engel said the clientele at the hotel will consist of transient business customers, mostly those visiting Smurfit Stone Corporation’s paper mill in Brewton as well as tourists visiting antique shops in the city or those traveling to the Gulf Coast beaches. Brewton has twice been recognized in Norman Crampton’s book, “The 100 Best Small Towns in America.”
Fitting for its small-town location, Engel said the hotel’s new guest rooms have a residential design that feels comfortable and relaxed. Granite bathroom fixtures, foam and feather pillows, duvet covers, refrigerators and a full-size desk are found in every room.
“This is the kind of property we can be proud to manage,” said Integral President William Murray. “It is a beautiful hotel that is an important asset to its surrounding community.”
